Key Installation Tips for Magnetic Flap Level Gauges
As a common liquid level measuring instrument, the installation quality of the magnetic flap level gauge directly affects its measurement accuracy and service life. Proper installation not only ensures accurate data but also reduces maintenance costs and prevents equipment damage caused by improper operation. So, what key details should be noted during the installation process?
(1) Avoid Material Inlet/Outlet Ports
The magnetic flap level gauge should be installed away from the material medium inlet and outlet ports. This prevents the adverse impact of rapid local changes in the material fluid on the accuracy of liquid level measurement.
(2) Vertical Installation
During installation, the magnetic flap level gauge must be kept vertical, with a perpendicularity deviation not exceeding 3°. A root valve should be installed between the gauge and the container's mounting flange to facilitate maintenance and cleaning.
(3) Prevent Magnetic Field Interference
Installation should avoid the influence of strong magnetic fields. Ensure that there are no magnetically attractive materials within a 100mm range around the gauge cylinder. The use of iron clamps to fix the magnetic flap panel is strictly prohibited.
(4) Float Orientation
When inserting the float into the cylinder, its magnetic end must face upward. Additionally, ensure the float can move freely up and down. It is crucial to confirm the correct initial state of the float to avoid measurement errors caused by incorrect installation.
(5) Fixing and Protection
If the installation height reaches 4-5 meters, fixed cables should be added on both sides or a middle support should be installed. This ensures the instrument remains undamaged under harsh measurement conditions, such as on-site vibration, collision, or strong winds.
(6) Ease of Cleaning
The installation location should allow for easy future cleaning. Since the level gauge will inevitably come into contact with the medium during use, different media may require cleaning later. Therefore, sufficient space must be reserved during installation to facilitate subsequent cleaning work.
(7) Medium Requirements
The medium should not contain solid impurities or magnetic substances. These substances may cause the float to become stuck, thereby affecting measurement accuracy.
Although the installation of a magnetic flap level gauge seems simple, it actually involves many technical points. Only by operating in strict accordance with the requirements can long-term stable operation be ensured. Neglecting any detail may affect the measurement results or even cause damage to the instrument. Therefore, before installation, it is essential to fully understand the medium characteristics, environmental conditions, and installation requirements. If necessary, consult professional technicians to ensure the level gauge performs optimally.
